Rivulus hartii

Little fish

It wasn't much more than a puddle, where we found this little fish. To me it was a kind of reunion, since I had a closely related species at home in my tank. David said, this was the lately renamed Rivulus hartii, but I couldn't find any newer information than this. Since these fish live in very small waters, they developed a rare skill: they can travel across the land when wet. Several meters in 15 minutes are reported.

Look carefully at the picture and you'll find one large, colorful male in the middle and at least 6 brownish and small females and juveniles.
