The town of Wilhelmshaven didn't only invite steam ships and boats, there also were a couple of steam engines of different kinds. Most of them passed a working life as trailers like this goodlooking one. And surprisingly different European countries supplied about a dozen, which unfortunately couldn't travel all the way on it's own wheels. One of the proud owners smiled, he hadn't leave enough to race along the streets from home with 20 km/h.
The strangest of all the engines certainly was a fire hose, going for big show biz every now and then: Driven by two horses and three people it galloped along the quais, madly ringing the bell and shouting FIRE! FIRE! as if for their lifes. But all the grainne engines did function and proved the loving care of their owners.
