This little lizard climbing a desert rose was photographed near Devil's Marbles. Like the previously photographed lizard from Standley Chasm it has an enormous tail - about triple body length. Must be exausting to trail it all life long. I didn't know the name of this little artist, now Mark Hawker informed me: (It) is a Canegrass Dragon, Diporiphora winneckei. It is commonly found in spinifex plants and is an arboreal lizard. I keep these animals in my own collection and have bred them several times recently.. |
